MOLLE II Rucksacks Built for Real Field Use
Internal-frame rucksacks issued to U.S. forces — now available for contractors, preppers, hunters, hikers, and serious outdoor users. 1000D Cordura, PALS webbing, and 3-day load-out capacity in one modular system.
What Is a MOLLE II Rucksack?
MOLLE II (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, Generation II) is the rucksack system that replaced ALICE in the U.S. military in the late 1990s. Each pack uses an internal or molded polymer frame, PALS webbing for attaching sustainment pouches, and a contoured hip belt that shifts weight off the shoulders. Civilian-available builds from MT and Akmax keep the original spec — 1000D Cordura, YKK zippers, UTX hardware — at retail prices.

The construction details that separate a real MOLLE II ruck from a tactical-styled day pack.
Internal Polymer Frame
A molded internal frame transfers load to the hips, keeps the pack stable on the move, and supports 60+ lb without sagging into the shoulders.
1000D Cordura
Heavy-denier fabric with water-resistant treatment shrugs off rain, dust, and abrasion against deadfall, vehicle interiors, and packed gear.
PALS / MOLLE Webbing
A real laser-cut or stitched PALS grid — sustainment pouches, IFAK, admin panels, and tool holders mount where you need them.
Sustainment Pouch Compatible
Detachable side pouches and assault pack interfaces let the ruck flex from a 3-day loadout to an extended-mission carry.
3-Day Capacity
55L medium and 75L+ large variants carry sleeping kit, food, water, IFAK, electronics, and clothing for a 72-hour field rotation.
Padded Hip Belt + Lumbar
A wide hip belt and contoured lumbar pad shift the load onto the iliac crest — the same load-transfer principle used on issued kit.

I have carried this bag literally thousands of miles. I have abused it. I beat it, dropped it, thrown, kicked and dragged it. I wash it in the washing machine every few months. It is undoubtedly hands down the best bag for the price that you will find.
For not being issued gear it is still pretty close. The waist strap is so much more comfortable than issued. I noticed between my issued one and this one that the zippers aren't as thick and the shoulder straps are very stiff and thick. Which wouldn't matter if you're in full kit. But for the price and with the included sustainment pouches it's still a great bag for the price.
Ordered this medium ruck and due to strenuous conditions I put it through the strap broke on me…. However, I reached out to the customer service a few days later and immediately sent me a brand new bag. All companies should strive to have customer service as this company did. Brand new bag within 72 hours of reaching out. Would recommend and buy again from this company!
Firstly, this isn't the ruck you got from CIF. It's basically an army med ruck but more comfortable (unless you're gonna ruck with it long distance, due to the lack of a frame or even a place for one) because the back is cushioned. I don't care for the black "leather" accents on the handle and lumbar area. The phone case doesn't fit many newer phones with cases, and I had no use for the bottle holder, so I gave them to my dad and he loves them. The sustainment pouches, however, are great! They have little pockets/dividers in them for better organization.
This may look like an official medium rucksack but it isn't. Extremely close but just know that going in. It feels well made after a using it for awhile. I ruck 4-8 miles a week. It's holding up fine and the extra sustainment pouches are nice (they can also be removed if you prefer). A few minor gripes: the shoulder straps are extremely stiff, there aren't enough retainers for all the loose ends of various straps, and the drag handle is wrapped in pleather. None of that is a deal breaker for me but felt it worth mentioning.
A good quality pack around 50 ltrs. 2 small molle pouches about a 3rd of the size of a sustainment pouch — I put them on the belt to make room for genuine sustainment pouches. Lots of internal organisation. The load lifter adjustment straps are short, you need to take the pack off to adjust, but the bag is very near the US Army standard and is comfortable when carrying a load.
About the MOLLE II System
A focused destination for military-spec rucksacks built for real use
MOLLE II — Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, Generation II — replaced the ALICE pack in the U.S. Army in the late 1990s. It introduced the load-bearing principles still used on issued kit today: an internal-frame backbone, a contoured lumbar pad, a wide load-transferring hip belt, and PALS webbing for clipping on sustainment pouches, IFAKs, and assault packs. The Generation 4 / Sky Walker Ruck 2.0 evolution refined the molded frame, the hip-belt geometry, and the assault-pack interface.
MT (Mountain Trekking) and Akmax build the closest civilian-retail equivalents to issued kit. The fabric is real 1000D Cordura, the zippers are genuine YKK, the buckles are branded UTX, and the high-stress points are bartacked. These are not lifestyle backpacks with a tactical aesthetic — they are reproductions of the same load-bearing system you would have been issued downrange, sold at a fraction of the price of small-batch tactical brands.
The audience that carries this system is broader than military. Contractors prepping a deployment kit, preppers building a 72-hour bug-out bag, hunters running multi-day pack-outs, backpackers who want a frame rated for 60+ lb, airsoft and milsim players who want authentic kit, and overland travelers who want luggage that survives the back of a truck. molle2rucksack.com curates the rucksacks that hold up under all of those use cases.
